Annual Keelboat Weighing Day – AMS, ORC and IRC

Hello keelboat owners:

We will be conducting a weighing day on Sunday 17 th September 2023 from 9am at Sandringham Yacht Club for boats that wish to obtain or update their measurement ratings certificates – AMS, ORC and IRC. In keeping with our usual practice, this day will be conducted by volunteers for the benefit of boat owners on the Port Phillip.

We have been weighing boats since 1998 and with the fantastic support of Hydralift Cranes, Sandringham Yacht Club and many volunteers, we plan on weighing six boats per hour. This provides to the boat owners a low-cost weighing service, at a fraction of the cost incurred in other States.

The cost of the weighing will be $295 per boat.

We weigh all boats in “empty” configuration, and this means that the IRC and ORC weight is provided. The AMS weight is the empty weight plus the weight of the AMS

permitted gear, which is weighed in a basket on the club crane.
